    I searched the whole internet and cant seem to find the problem.

    my fetchmailrc looks like this

    set no bouncemail
    set syslog;
    set daemon 90;
    set postmaster "[email protected]";

    poll "mail.kleinkarootoyota.co.za"
    with protocol pop3
    user "[email protected]" password "XXXXX" is 'XXXXX' here
    keep ssl
    smtphost "mail.kleinkarootoyota.co.za" hostname "[email protected]"

    If anyone can tell me how to solve this problem hen that would be grealt appreciated.

    PS: what does (mail for localhost loops back to myself) mean?

    Please add localhost to the mydestination line in /etc/postfix/main.cf and restart Postfix.
    What's the output of
    Code:
    netstat -tap
    ?

    Which distribution are you using?

    Hi the locahost is already added to mydestination.

    look here

    No, it isn't. Please run
    Code:
    postconf -e 'mydestination = $myhostname, $mydomain, localhost, localhost.localdomain'
    /etc/init.d/postfix restart

    Postfix isn't running. Please start it.

    hi fetchmail and postnet was offline cos i didnt want it to waste bandwidth is if cant download emails. The server is still doing the same when added postconf -e 'mydestination = $myhostname, $mydomain, localhost, localhost.localdomain'
    /etc/init.d/postfix restart

    It only does it when there is new messages on the remote server.

    Any other advice?

    What's in /etc/hosts?

  9. kameelperdza

    I dont understand why im getting different results than before. Now i can also use the mail.kleinkarootoyota.co.za.

    I went and edited /etc/hosts and uncomment the ip6 stuff and added
    127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost

    Now it looks like....

    127.0.0.1 localhost
    127.0.1.1 KKT-Server

    # The following lines are desirable for IPv6 capable hosts
    #::1 localhost ip6-localhost ip6-loopback
    #fe00::0 ip6-localnet
    #ff00::0 ip6-mcastprefix
    #ff02::1 ip6-allnodes
    #ff02::2 ip6-allrouters
    #ff02::3 ip6-allhosts

    127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost

    That solved the problem but is still would not flush.
    I went and added flush to my fetchmailrc and now it looks like this

    set no bouncemail
    set syslog;
    set daemon 90;
    set postmaster "[email protected]";

    poll "mail.kleinkarootoyota.co.za"
    with protocol pop3
    user "[email protected]" password "xxxxxxx" is 'xxxxxxx' here
    keep
    ssl
    flush

    The results are as follow.

    Im getting nothing, only message 1 of 5 is been flushed, but not the other.

    mmm, maybe i should reformat my computer and start from scratch, but i think that it will do it again.

    I finally solved the problem after 2 weeks on headache.

    There was a small human error in my fetchmailrc file.

    My fetchmail looked like this

    set no bouncemail
    set syslog;
    set daemon 90;
    set postmaster "emile@kleinkarootoyota.co.za";

    poll "mail.kleinkarootoyota.co.za"
    with protocol pop3
    user "XXXXX@kleinkarootoyota.co.za" password "XXXXX" is 'XXXXX' here
    keep ssl
    smtphost "mail.kleinkarootoyota.co.za" hostname "XXXXX@kleinkarootoyota.co.za"

    and now it looks like this....

    set no bouncemail
    set syslog;
    set daemon 90;
    set postmaster "emile@kleinkarootoyota.co.za";

    poll "mail.kleinkarootoyota.co.za"
    with protocol pop3
    user "catchall@kleinkarootoyota.co.za" password "xxxxx" is xxxxx here fetchall
    ssl
    smtphost "kleinkarootoyota.co.za" hostname "catchall@kleinkarootoyota.co.za"

    I wonder why it wont work with keep
    When i replace fetchall with keep then it wont flush.

    Thats ok, i dont need it anymore.
