Hi, the error.log file located in /var/log/apache2 is filled with notices fcgid mod: Code: [Wed Mar 30 10:54:45 2011] [notice] mod_fcgid: call /var/www/site.com/web/forum/index.php with wrapper /var/www/php-fcgi-scripts/web1/.php-fcgi-starter [Wed Mar 30 10:56:33 2011] [notice] mod_fcgid: process 12783 going graceful shutdown, sending SIGTERM [Wed Mar 30 10:56:39 2011] [notice] mod_fcgid: process /var/site.com/web/forum/index.php(12783) exit(lifetime expired), terminated by calling exit(), return code: 0 [Wed Mar 30 11:37:29 2011] [notice] mod_fcgid: process 25182 going graceful shutdown, sending SIGTERM [Wed Mar 30 11:37:35 2011] [notice] mod_fcgid: process /var/www/site.com/web/forum/index.php(25182) exit(lifetime expired), terminated by calling exit(), return code: 0 [Wed Mar 30 11:41:35 2011] [notice] mod_fcgid: process 25466 going graceful shutdown, sending SIGTERM thousand of lines!! it is possible not to register these errors? I turned off archiving of errors in the 3 php.ini but nothing changed, probably there is a specific configuration file for the module fcgid! in apache2.conf, I have already made: LogLevel warn (i have debian) thank you for your help EDIT: in php.ini i have Code: ; Disable logging through FastCGI connection. PHP's default behavior is to enable ; this feature. ;fastcgi.logging = 0 I must replace it with this configuration? Code: ; Disable logging through FastCGI connection. PHP's default behavior is to enable ; this feature. fastcgi.logging = 0 EDIT2: nothing changed, always dozens notices in error.log Code: [Wed Mar 30 22:44:44 2011] [notice] mod_fcgid: call /var/www/site.com/web/forum/index.php with wrapper /var/www/php-fcgi-scripts/web1/.php-fcgi-starter [Wed Mar 30 22:44:44 2011] [notice] mod_fcgid: call /var/www/site.com/web/forum/index.php with wrapper /var/www/php-fcgi-scripts/web1/.php-fcgi-starter [Wed Mar 30 22:44:44 2011] [notice] mod_fcgid: call /var/www/site.com/web/forum/index.php with wrapper /var/www/php-fcgi-scripts/web1/.php-fcgi-starter [Wed Mar 30 22:44:44 2011] [notice] mod_fcgid: call /var/www/site.com/web/forum/index.php with wrapper /var/www/php-fcgi-scripts/web1/.php-fcgi-starter [Wed Mar 30 22:44:44 2011] [notice] mod_fcgid: call /var/www/site.com/web/forum/index.php with wrapper /var/www/php-fcgi-scripts/web1/.php-fcgi-starter [Wed Mar 30 22:44:44 2011] [notice] mod_fcgid: call /var/www/site.com/web/forum/index.php with wrapper /var/www/php-fcgi-scripts/web1/.php-fcgi-starter [Wed Mar 30 22:44:44 2011] [notice] mod_fcgid: call /var/www/site.com/web/forum/index.php with wrapper /var/www/php-fcgi-scripts/web1/.php-fcgi-starter
Did you restart Apache? IS there maybe another LogLevel directive somewhere in your configuration (also check your .htaccess files)?
yes I did Code: /etc/init.d/apache2 restart I really do not know, I use ispconfig vanilla (default) I also noticed several thousands of lines like this: Code: Software caused connection abort: mod_fcgid: ap_pass_brigade failed in handle_request function any possibility to completely disable fcgi logs please? my server is super loaded!
thx for your support, the result : apache2.conf:# LogLevel: Control the number of messages logged to the error_log. apache2.conf:LogLevel crit sites-available/default: LogLevel warn sites-available/site.com.vhost: LogLevel crit sites-available/default-ssl: LogLevel warn sites-available/roundcube: LogLevel warn sites-enabled/site.com.vhost: LogLevel crit sites-enabled/default-ssl: LogLevel warn sites-enabled/roundcube: LogLevel warn sites-enabled/000-default: LogLevel warn
Please change the LogLevel directive in all files in the sites-available/ directory as well and restart Apache.
ok i did, now : Code: apache2.conf:# LogLevel: Control the number of messages logged to the error_log. apache2.conf:LogLevel crit sites-available/default: LogLevel crit sites-available/site.com.vhost: LogLevel crit sites-available/default-ssl: LogLevel crit sites-available/roundcube: LogLevel crit sites-enabled/site.com.vhost: LogLevel crit sites-enabled/default-ssl: LogLevel crit sites-enabled/roundcube: LogLevel crit sites-enabled/000-default: LogLevel crit but the problem still exist, notices mod_fcgid are logged in error.log!!
if it can help identify the issue, here are the configuration files apache2.conf : Code: # # Based upon the NCSA server configuration files originally by Rob McCool. # # This is the main Apache server configuration file. It contains the # configuration directives that give the server its instructions. # See http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/ for detailed information about # the directives. # # Do NOT simply read the instructions in here without understanding # what they do. They're here only as hints or reminders. If you are unsure # consult the online docs. You have been warned. # # The configuration directives are grouped into three basic sections: # 1. Directives that control the operation of the Apache server process as a # whole (the 'global environment'). # 2. Directives that define the parameters of the 'main' or 'default' server, # which responds to requests that aren't handled by a virtual host. # These directives also provide default values for the settings # of all virtual hosts. # 3. Settings for virtual hosts, which allow Web requests to be sent to # different IP addresses or hostnames and have them handled by the # same Apache server process. # # Configuration and logfile names: If the filenames you specify for many # of the server's control files begin with "/" (or "drive:/" for Win32), the # server will use that explicit path. If the filenames do *not* begin # with "/", the value of ServerRoot is prepended -- so "/var/log/apache2/foo.log" # with ServerRoot set to "" will be interpreted by the # server as "//var/log/apache2/foo.log". # ### Section 1: Global Environment # # The directives in this section affect the overall operation of Apache, # such as the number of concurrent requests it can handle or where it # can find its configuration files. # # # ServerRoot: The top of the directory tree under which the server's # configuration, error, and log files are kept. # # NOTE! If you intend to place this on an NFS (or otherwise network) # mounted filesystem then please read the LockFile documentation (available # at <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.1/mod/mpm_common.html#lockfile>); # you will save yourself a lot of trouble. # # Do NOT add a slash at the end of the directory path. # ServerRoot "/etc/apache2" # # The accept serialization lock file MUST BE STORED ON A LOCAL DISK. # #<IfModule !mpm_winnt.c> #<IfModule !mpm_netware.c> LockFile /var/lock/apache2/accept.lock #</IfModule> #</IfModule> # # PidFile: The file in which the server should record its process # identification number when it starts. # This needs to be set in /etc/apache2/envvars # PidFile ${APACHE_PID_FILE} # # Timeout: The number of seconds before receives and sends time out. # Timeout 300 # # KeepAlive: Whether or not to allow persistent connections (more than # one request per connection). Internal server error / Hi, My log is also full of those but sometime apache is shutting down for no reason because of that. Here is an example of a server internal error on a script: [Fri Sep 07 10:17:20 2012] [notice] mod_fcgid: process /var/www/domain.com//web/index.php(12662) exit(idle timeout), terminated by calling exit(), return code: 0 [Fri Sep 07 10:19:19 2012] [notice] mod_fcgid: call /var/www/domain.com/web/index.php with wrapper /var/www/php-fcgi-scripts/web21/.php-fcgi-starter [Fri Sep 07 10:19:19 2012] [notice] mod_fcgid: process /var/www/domain.com/scripts/index.php(12771) exit(idle timeout), terminated by calling exit(), return code: 0 [Fri Sep 07 10:19:19 2012] [warn] mod_fcgid: process 12737 graceful kill fail, sending SIGKILL [Fri Sep 07 10:19:25 2012] [notice] mod_fcgid: process /var/www/domain.com/web/index.php(12737) exit(busy timeout), get stop signal 9 Do you think it is a mod_fcgi, apache2 or a php script problem? The thing is that I have this on about all the site on this server. Thanks in advance. S
Do you have munin installed? It might help you troubleshoot the issue. Maybe this is caused by a high load on your server, slow hard drives, not enough memory, etc.
