    i'm feeling dumb.

    I'm using
    Server: ispconfig3 (Debian Unknown) ISPConfig

    State: info (0 unknown, 0 info, 2 warning, 0 critical, 0 error)

The state of your Hard-Disk space is ok [More...]
Your Mail queue load is ok [More...]
    Your RAID is ok [More...]
Your Server load is ok [More...]
All needed services are online [More...]
The System Log is O.K. [More...]

    Dovecot and debian 7

A client is trying to create a new mailbox. the error is:

The max space for mailboxes is reached. The max. available space in MB is: -14565
Mailbox size must be a number.
Invalid quota value. Allowed values are: 0 for unlimited or numbers > 1

The client has the following email limits:

    Email Limits
    Mailbox quota 330 MB
    Max. number of mailboxes 220

By now he is using 132 malboxex on 210

    [email protected]:/var/vmail/ du -chs
    3.8G .
    3.8G total

How is it possible ? Shoulnt he have 330 MB * 220 = 66GB of mail quota ?
    Am i missing something ? (well ... surely ...)

Set the mailbox quota limit of the client or reseller to a higher number.

You mean higher than 330 MB ?
But why do i have to do it ?

He should have all the quota he needs, i wouldnt want to higher the mailbox quota

I'm understanding the Mailbox quota is "per mailbox" right ?

The mailbox quota in the client settings is the overall quota that this client can use for all his mailboxes. So he can currently create 1 mailbox with 330 MB or e.g. 1 mailbox with 300mb and another one with 30mb and so on. But he can not exceed the sum of 330 mb for all his mailboxes.
