I am having troulbe getting passed the PHP configuration portion of the setup. I have read the recent thread and an older one, but haven't found a way to fix my problem. I am running Ubuntu 6.06. Below is the output from my failed install. Any advice is appreciated. I've run thru this a couple times and am stuck.

    I ran into another error:

checking for gcc bug PR28045... configure: error: your compiler has gcc PR28045 bug, use a different compiler, see http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzi
    lla/show_bug.cgi?id=28045

    What version is recommended?

Is there anyway to create the database if it fails during installation? I've run through twice now, the database creates, but there are no tables.

    Unfortunately not.
Any errors during the installation? What's the output of
    Code:
    df -h
    ?

df -h gives 8g free. It was late when it finished and I didn't record the only thing that I saw to be maybe an error. It was a line that in (what I think is) german. It said Something something something <dbname> something!. I don't know if that helps, but I am running the setup again to get that piece of reporting from it and will post it back here as soon as its done.

Hey, wanted to post and let you know I fixed it. I had created the database before installation thinking that was the right thing to do. Apparently not, I removed it, but left the database user there, and it installed perfectly. Thanks for your help thru all of this, I love the system!
