    Here is the situation...

From my cable provider I have reserved IP, based on MAC address.
This is how, I understand, most cable ISP's, provide "static" adresses to who requires it.

I do not want to put server, running ISPconfig, behind router/firewall.
Doing that, via DHCP, server will always get same public IP address.

Does this present a problem for the functionality of ISPconfig?

Idealy, I would like to configure/setup server using private IP, some 192.x.x.x address. After all done, plug it in to a switch where cable modem is connected to, and box will pick up reserved adddresss from ISP.

This is no problem for ispconfig. But you should be aware that you will not be able to send emails to any outside servers as all major internet service providers will block your emails.
