I have a few questions regarding a ispconfig server setup as I am still trying to learn and grasp the whole server and dns concept.
Say if I give a server the host and domain of

Can I setup the mail services on to reply as instead of server1.* ?

Also on same server does the ispconfig control panel have to listen to server1.* or can it listen on say ?

Thanks for any comments in advance.

Yes. Just set the hostname and mydomain variables in postfix

The controlpanel does not depend on a hostname, as it listens on all interfaces on port 81.
