okay, so I started a server for mydomain.com, that is the name f the server and the name of my website. now mydomain.com always forwards to /var/www when the FTP user I created for the website goes to /var/www/clients/client3/web7. when I set default folder /var/www my ftp user does not have privileges. and I cannot figure out how to change the base dir for mydomain.com to match the ftp user.

I am sorry, I have been browsing the net for ever, and I read through the whole manual and I cannot figure this out. I am kind of a newbie!

    Thanks in advanced.

You should not be trying to change ftp to that directory.

You should be getting /var/www/clients/client3/web7 to serve yourdomain.com

/var/www is the apache root directory.

Maybe you should consider how your dns is working? Do you have an 'a' record with yourdomain.com registrar pointing to your server?
