    Can't send email - POSTFIX - SASL

    Hi,
we've a trouble with postfix… we can't send email but we can receive it…

so we have this error : SASL PLAIN authentication failed: authentication failure

    When I do this :
    Code:
    testsaslauthd -u email@domain.com -p password
connect() : No such file or directory
    VI this file : /etc/postfix/sasl/smtpd.conf
    Code:
    pwcheck_method: saslauthd auxprop
    mech_list: plain login
    allow_plaintext: true
    auxprop_plugin: sql
    sql_engine: mysql
    sql_hostnames: 127.0.0.1
    sql_user: ispconfig
    sql_passwd: the right password ;-)
    sql_database: dbispconfig
    sql_select: select password from mail_user where email = '%u'

and here the postfix file :
    Code:
    # See /usr/share/postfix/main.cf.dist for a commented, more complete version

    # Debian specific: Specifying a file name will cause the first
    # line of that file to be used as the name. The Debian default

    Thx for your help :)

Edit : resolve by upgrading ispconfig and during this say YES when you have to reconfigure the services

    Which distribution do you use?

Are there any other errors in your mail log?

    Hi,
No other error in mail log..
Was on debian 6.0.6 with ispconfig 3.0.4.3..
And I've upgrade to 3.0.5.2 and during the update I was able to reconfigure the services and so now it's working..

    Hello,
facing problem with smtp connection according to dns test:
"I was unable to connect to the SMTP port on ***.***.**.**..."

    in my /var/log/mail.log:

    "sm-mta[15365]: r4IG03hk015365: localhost [127.0.0.1] did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to MTA-v4
May 18 12:00:19 vps-***-*** postfix/postqueue[15399]: warning: Mail system is down -- accessing queue directly"

    i'm using vps dedicate debian-6.0-x86_64.

    Thank you
