Cant delete Remoter

Discussion in 'Installation/Configuration' started by Stefan Schumacher, Nov 18, 2021.

  1. Hi,
my company bought the ISPConfig Migration tool yesterday and I will be probably asking millions of questions before I get it right and can get to the real work: Organising the email server change with the users. This will be fun. Question 1: Why can't I or how can I delete the User Remoter accidentally created under ISPConfig Users instead of Remote Users?

    Yours sincerely

I guess you assigned that user the ID 0 somehow manually as you can't set it through ISPconfig. The user with ID is not delectable through the UI to protect the admin user, which is the only user that may have ID 0 on an ISPConfig system. The only way to remove that user is to manually delete it in sys_user table in the dbispconfig database.
  3. I am afraid you are mistaken Till - I did all of this through the UI. Can I just leave the user there or is it a potential security hole?

Yes, you are right. I remember that we had to make a change some time ago when creating admin users which might set ID to 0, Sorry for my wrong assumptions.

You can leave it there, just take care to set a secure password.
