    Hi All,

I'm looking to standardize on a gig nic for use in *nix.

You know in the old days the "standard" nic was a 3com 905b-tx, and you could put it in everything and it would just work?

I'm looking for a "modern" equivalent that is gig capable (hopefully 10/100/1000)

    Does anyone have any recommendations?

I'd like to find an option that is cost effective enough not to be $100 each like the IntelPro 10/100/1000.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

    Tfunk

I haven't tried any Gigabit NICs yet so I can't tell...
