    My ubuntu server is on a dynamic ip address. My router has the ability to connect to dyndns services. Lets say the hostname for my server is ns1.example.com and my account on dyndns.com is example.dyndn.org. And I have a CName on my host that directs all requests from ns1.example.com to example.dyndns.org.

    Currently, the server shows the default 'It works' page. I have tried to create a virtual host:

    <VirtualHost *>
            ServerName ns1.example.com
            DocumentRoot /var/www/ns1.example.com
    After, I enabled the site using a2ensite ns1.example.com and reloaded apache resources.

    I go to the server online, and it still shows the 'It works' page. I am thinking that it might be because the server is located via IP >> DynDNS >> ns1.example.com so the server doesnt recognize that the request domain as ns1.example.com and not as roxbox.dyndns.org.

    Is there anyway to fix this?

    Can you check if ns1.example.com is really pointing to your dyndns hostname?
    dig cname ns1.example.com
