Alias question with Virtual Users Ubuntu setup

I have a Virtual Users... Ubuntu 6.06 configuration based on Falco's awesome tutorial. I'm having an issue getting something figured out.

I just installed RT (Request Tracker from Best Practical) and added the recommended lines to /etc/aliases:

rt: "|/usr/bin/rt-mailgate --queue general --action correspond --url http://localhost/rt"
rt-comment: "|/usr/bin/rt-mailgate --queue general --action comment --url http://localhost/rt"

The problem is when I send a message to [email protected] from an external address (such as my gmail address) it just goes to the domain catch-all. If I send it via the localhost (such as echoing to the mail command) it works fine. This tells me that the alias file is being checked, but not for externally-based e-mail.

I tried putting the full [email protected] in the aliases file but it rejected it for non-local addresses. I'm not sure what else to try here. My config is pretty much straight from the tutorial, but I'll be happy to post any config specifics you may need.

Thanks in advance for the help!

I hate to respond to my own posts, but after stepping away for a while last night and approaching it with a clear head, I was able to find an article explaining how to do it.

The only difference is I had to format the /etc/postfix/alias backwards from the way he posted it, like so:

    [email protected] rt
    [email protected] support
    [email protected] abuse
Hopefully this will help someone else!
