Automatic Cleaning Of Trash And/Or Junk Folders With ISPConfig (With Roundcube + Tmpreaper (Tmpwatch))

This short mini-howto will help you set up automatic cleaning
of Trash- and Junkfolders. Most (web)mail clients (can) automatically
create these. A lot of people don't clean there maildirectories causing
Junk and Trash folders to grow massively in size and with ISPConfig
(not yet) being able to set good maildirectory size limits the
alternative is to have these folders cleaned after several days.

Exim Authenticated Smarthost

Exim Authenticated Smarthost

Today's ISP environment requires authenticated SMTP to be able to
send emails. As a policy, authenticated SMTP helps cut down on folks
sending SPAM and allows the ISP to track which account is sending what
type of email content for further demographic study. While
authenticated SMTP is good for the ISP, it is not a configuration
supported out of the box by most Linux distributions. This means that all those system emails and log reports emailed by root never make it anywhere anymore.

How to add two-factor authentication to Google Apps for your Domain using open source software

How to add two-factor authentication to Google Apps for your Domain using open source software

Everybody loves GMail. With Google Apps for you Domain, you can use
GMail with your own domain, allowing organizations to outsource their
email - and the requisite anti-spam filtering to Google. Webmail is
very convenient, but for frequent travellers and those who use public
wifi, it can be quite dangerous. Logging in from a kiosk or shared
computer is a sure way to get your username and password stolen by a
keystroke logger. Using a public WiFi system can lead to a
man-in-the-middle attack. In this document we will take advantage of
two open source projects to add two-factor authentication to Google
Apps. The first is Gheimdall,
a a TurboGears project for Google Apps SSO service. Gheimdall supports
PAM and LDAP authentication natively. It also includes sample code to
add new authentication methods, which made it very easy to add two-factor authentication from WiKID. WiKID is a dual-source two-factor authentication solution that uses public key cryptography to strongly authenticate users.

Source Edition on CentOS. This tutorial covers installation of CentOS,
dependencies for ZCS and setup of Split DNS when working behind a
firewall. This tutorial is based on the way I set this server up and is
only a suggestion. It carries no guarantees and it is highly suggested
that you do this on a test server first to verify functionality. If you
don't have a test server available you should download VMWare Server
1.0 and perform this tutorial on a test virtual server.

Filtering PDF-/XLS-/Image-Spam With ClamAV (And ISPConfig) On Debian/Ubuntu

Filtering PDF-/XLS-/Image-Spam With ClamAV (And ISPConfig) On Debian/Ubuntu

There is currently a lot of spam where the spam "information" is
attached as .pdf or .xls files, sometime also hidden inside a .zip
file. While these spam mails are not easy to catch with e.g.
SpamAssassin or a Bayes filter, the ClamAV virus scanner can catch them
easily when it is fed with the correct signatures as ClamAV is built to
scan mail attachments.
