Default How To Compile A Kernel - The Debian (Sarge) Way

Hi i have done every step in the howto but when i need to create the ramdisk:
mkinitrd.yaird -o /boot/initrd.img-2.6.18.3-default1 2.6.18.3-default1

it fails and give me this:
yaird error: can't open /proc/bus/input/devices (fatal)

Anywhon who knows how to fix this?


/proc/bus/input/devices dosent even exist .

uname -a
?
Is this a physical server or a virtual one?
