Default Use kernel 2.4 config for kernel 2.6?

Is it possible to use my working configuration of my Linux kernel 2.4.27 if I want to compile a 2.6 kernel?

Default

You can do that, but then at the beginning of the compilation process you will be asked a lot of configuration questions because the 2.6 kernel has a lot of options that are not covered by a 2.4 kernel configuration... Unpleasing...
