Problems: no SMTP with postfix on ISP-config, suse9.3 v-server
Hello friends
There is a problem, i can not solve. I badly need help, because some people have no posibility to receive mails.
I use a virtual server with suse9.2 where ISP-config is runnig. I generated some webs and users. Everything works fine, but the smtp-server.
If I send a mail to an user who exists on the server, I get a message like that:
Code:
451 4.0.0 Local error in processing
Warning: message still undelivered after 4 hours.
Will keep trying until message is 5 days, 0 hours old
It is no problem, to receive mails from the server via pop3, but neither sending an mail to any user nor connecting directly via smtp is possible.
I don't know, where to search. Everything I tried, failed.
ISP-config means, that smtp is active and port 25 is open. I don't understand exactly what the problem is. Maybe you do. I hope so.
edit:

Looks ok.
Make sure your firewall and your ISP don't block port 25.
What's your server's IP address? I could try to connect then.

The IP is 85.214.75.85
The Port 25 should be open.
Try to send me an email to topgig ;AT; topgig.de

hm
ok so far, but I don't understand, why this server accepts no mails. if I send an email to any user on this server e.g with moz.thunderbird, the mail returns. Even internal mailing is broken. 'Pine' dies, while it tries sending an server-internal mail.
What could be the reason
PS: Wir können es auch auf Deutsch probieren, wenn das hier im Forum kein Problem ist

Please send a mail to your server and at the same time run
Code:
tail -f /var/log/mail
What do you see?
