Default spamd

I installed ISPConfig 2.2.6 and am using spamd that came with it. /home/admispconfig/ispconfig/tools/spamassassin/etc/mail/spamassassin has some files in it (local.cf, init.pre, v310.pre, v312.pre), but when I make a change in one of these files, it doesn't seem to effect spamd. I'm wondering where the config files are?

ISPConfig doesn't use spamd, it uses spamassassin instead.
The config files are in /home/admispconfig/ispconfig/tools/spamassassin/etc/mail/spamassassin, but each user also has a .user_prefs file in his homedir that overrides the settings from the /home/admispconfig/ispconfig/tools/spamassassin/etc/mail/spamassassin directory.
