ILOHAMAIL in 10 easy steps
In the forums, we have talked a lot about webmail clients like Squirrelmail, Horde, Uebimiau and RoundCube.
There is also another nice, well designed and easy to use webmail client:
IlohaMail, my personal favorite, which deserves more attention.
It provides similar functions as Horde but is not so difficult to setup.
In my "mini how to" i explain how you can setup IlohaMail on your perfect server with ISPConfig.
Link to my how is now located here: http://www.howtoforge.com/ilohamail_ispconfig
(URL changed after Falko's post on Howtoforge).
Enjoy IlohaMail!

I've had a look at the sceenshots of IlohaMail, and it's so funny how the creator is hiding his URL in the addrss bar, while it is still showing it in the bottom bar :-)
Anyway.. IlohaMail does look nice, and I'll give it a go later this week! Thanks for the tip and your mini howto!

I expected this question Falko,
Of course i like to do that but because the file was to big to attach here and i do not know (yet) how to publish it on Howtoforge, i gave it a place on my own server.
So if you send me an instruction, i will not hasitate to publish it on Howtoforge!

Hello Hans,
you can publish howtos on howtoforge with your forum account. To publish your tutorial, go to Contribute > Create Content in the howto area. If you want your tutorial to go on multiple pages (because it's too long for just a single page), select "book page", otherwise "story".

Hi Till,
Thank you for your explanation.
I will publish the how to on Howtoforge soon.
If i've done so, i will remove the link to my own server.

Thank you Hans for your good installation manual.
I install but doesn't appear the menu of the left neither any folder (trash, sent ..). Neither spelling check in the compose mail.
some suggestion ?
Thanks for your good work.

folder list in IlohaMail
The left menu is called "folder list" if you want to view the folder list, you have to enable "view folder list" in the preferences screen and give the width of the folder list a value of (for example) 150, which are pixels.
The default width of the folder list is 0, which means that even if you enable "view folder list" it is still not visible! So, simply define a width for the folder list as well.
The spell checking is possible but optional.
To use spell checking within IlohaMail you have to setup Aspell on your server, but i did not test that (yet).
Here is a detailed feature list of IlohaMail:
