Well I only used tomcat (when I had to) as appbackend with apache and mod_jk as frontend.
So I do not really understand what you mean by placing the .war in the "docroot of the vhost".
I always placed them directly under "Webapps" in the tomcats ... dir restarted tomcat and that tomcat extracted the war...
What I means is I've installed ISPConfig as control panel and
I'd like to allow my clients to use JSP as well.
Therefore rootdoc of VHost(virtual host) is root directory of VHost
that mentioned in the server.xml.
By the way, I see some Web hosting that allow clients to start/restart tomcat.
Is it possible to manage tomcat service for each client independently?
