CentOS - MySQL/ISPConfig Problem

Hey,

I am following the CentOS tutorial but I have come astray. I am on this page > http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect_setup_centos_4.3_p5 right at the bottom.

mysqladmin -u root password yourrootsqlpassword
mysqladmin -h localhost.localdomain -u root password XXX

The first line runs fine but the second line give me this error. EDIT: I tried running the 1st line but now gives me an error....

mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost.localdomain' failed
error: 'Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)'

What am I doing wrong?

I've done some of the perfect install tutorial a lot, and I've gotten the same error message sometimes. What I do (because I want to follow the install to the letter) is kill the install and start again. I will say though, that I think you are supposed to enter the hostname.domain.tld instead of localhost.localdomain:

mysqladmin -u root password yourrootsqlpassword
mysqladmin -h server1.example.com -u root password yourrootsqlpassword

Kind of implies the host.domain.tld format...
