Default OpenSUSE 12.3 Samba Standalone Server With tdbsam Backend

Can I use a public IP for the server ? and if yes, can I access from internet to the server?

You will have a serious security problem, if you want to share files on the internet, it is recommended that use another system (eg: DAV), encrypted digital certificates.

In any case you choose to use Samba, I recommend a strict review of security through a VPN. All of this with a good firewall protection.
