phpvirtualbox login issue

i have followed the tutorial on how to setup ubuntu server 12.04 with virtualbox and phpvirtualbox. everything works smoothly for the virtualbox. the problem is that i cannot login to phpvirtualbox, as it returns an error. Lets take it from the beggining.

when it comes to http://myIP/phpvirtualbox/ it asks for user name and password. i have tried admin/admin it returns an error. i have tried the username and password that it is in config.php, but without success.

did anyone had the same issue and got it fixed?
