Default Why install SSL from command line?

I am trying to setup a server according to these guide:
http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect-se...ispconfig-3-p5

During step "16 Install PureFTPd And Quota" the instructions guide through the installation of an SSL certificate.

Why do we need to do this at this point? I prefer to install the ISPConfig3 and then install the SSL certificate through the friendly GUI.

What am I missing here please?

You cannot manage PureFTPd's SSL certificate through ISPConfig.
