Could use help with subdomain/aliasdomain
Hi,
I've been up and down any how-to I could find but still haven't figured out how to set up a subdomain or alias-domain that does more than create a redirect-loop so far.
Goal: Set up numerous subdomains under one domain.
Attempts so far:
1) sub-domain way:
host: "sub1.domain.name"
domain: "domain.name" (selection)
redirect type: tried them all
redirect path: relative and absolute path to subdomain, nginx error log indicates I most likely put the right folder there but:
result: redirect loop, sometimes in the address bar, sometime in the error.log, sometimes both.
2) alias domain way:
well, basically the same, sometimes it did show the content from an index.php file, but still looped through error pages it could not find and broke.
In my eyes the whole subdomain system is broken since it does not allow to simply enter URL + folder and work, but that's really a different issue, if somebody can point me in the right direction I'm happy as long as I don't have to set up different webspace for each sudomains ( and that's an awful lot ).
