ISPConfig Cluster: Cluster IP and Failover?

Hello everyone,

This Tutorial is very great, however, I miss some things.

First of all, this is about replication between two nodes, however, it doesn't explain in detail how to set up a failover cluster. I mean, it's okay two have two consistent nodes, but in the worst case scenario, who really uses RR DNS alone?
I am afraid of inconsistencies when using RR DNS, so I rely on a single host being clustered.

Second, following number 1, what about a virtual cluster IP? How is this configured.

Primarily, I want you to help me, but I would be glad if your tutorial would be expanded.

So what do I have to do to setup ISPConfig 3 in a failover cluster?

There are no problems with inconsitencies as the cluster is made to be used as failover or even simultaniously behind a loadbalancer, so no need to use rr DNS.

You can use any hard or software loadbalancer in front of the cluster and there are several tutorials about that here on howtoforge, so we decided to not add it to the base clusetr setup.

So I can use any cluster software like Pacemaker to get the two nodes ready for HA/Failover
