Default Mail alias or forward

What's the difference? Why not use only mail forwarders?
They are more flexible

Ys, thats the difference. The target of an alias can only be a address on the same server while a forwarder can be used for external addresses as well.

Some providers use different limits for forards then for aliases in their hosting plans.
