Default ISPconfig3 + Ubuntu 12.4 SASL Errors

Hi, i have a multiserver setup with 2 servers and now getting ready for productivy use we tested sending mails and geht these errors:

Quote:
May 18 14:03:01 nordend postfix/smtpd[11748]: warning: someadress: SASL PLAIN authentication failed: no mechanism available
May 18 14:03:02 nordend postfix/smtpd[11748]: warning: someadress: SASL LOGIN authentication failed: no mechanism available
After googeling and reading on howtoforge, this seemed to be common in ubuntu 11.10, but we are using 12.04 getting the same errors?

First of all: Should i do this -> http://www.howtoforge.com/ubuntu-11....nism-available or shouldn´t i run it on ubuntu 12.04? Could there be something else to do?

This affects ubuntu 12.04 as well. Please edit the sasl smtpd.conf file as suggested in the first comment of this article:

http://www.howtoforge.com/ubuntu-11....#comment-31563

and then restart sasl authd.

Thanks for the quick reply, but this also didn´t help. I tried the first version in the comment and also the second one (with the email sql statement). Still no saslauth possible.

sql_database: dbispconfig
sql_select: select password from mail_user where login = '%u@%r'

Try to restart postfix. I did these changes on several servers of our customers already and I know they always worked.

Nope, this didn´t help. Sorry. I even did a reboot. Have i any chance to increase the verbose level for the logs?

*edit* Got it!

I was reading: https://bugs.launchpad.net
noticing that the post you mentioned
had a typo, which i copied too.

So working config now is:

Quote:
pwcheck_method: saslauthd
mech_list: plain login
allow_plaintext: true
auxprop_plugin: sql
sql_engine: mysql
sql_hostnames: 127.0.0.1
sql_user: ispconfig
sql_passwd: *snip*
sql_database: dbispconfig
sql_select: select password from mail_user where login = '%u@%r'
