Move email deleted in outlook to deleted items folder?

Hi all,

Outlook versions prior to 2010 seem to insist on physically deleting email in imap accounts rather than moving the mail to a deleted items folder. I have absolutely no idea what the logic was behind that but its extremely frustrating.

Does anyone have any ideas for working around this on the server side? My users just want to delete their mail and have it go to the deleted items folder.
