Default cyrus sasl otp

HI...I am new to this whole cyrus sasl world...Ive been asked to implement cyrus sasl otp mechanism...I need advice on this.. which would me a good way to start this process....should i use postfix or sendmail or is there any other method which uses sasl to authenticate users using otp.....need advice on this ...any help would be very appreciated.

I would also like to know what packages are required to do this....
