Default http weirdness

Hi folks.

I have a small curiousity. http://<domain name> works fine but http://www.<domain name> doesn't. With the www. version I get the "It works!" default web page for the server. In the web domain section of ISPConfig3 the auto-subdomain is set to www. and there's a CNAME record for www.<domain name> to <domain name> in the DNS. And yes, they do both have full stops on the end.

Any ideas on how I can fix this?

Thankies.

Simon.

Ensure that you enabled auto subdomain www in the website settings as it cant be enabled in the vhost file when you get the it works page. Also check the monitor for errors.

Sounds like you could fix the problem @ the domain registrar by simply pointing all requests to your IP address.

But I must say there is something strange going on with the *, Auto and WWW selections. I have no idea what is going on but for some strange reason I am indexing www. pages and I have never selected or used www ever. My site generates many has many different sld's maybe something at the registar and other things I am doing. but I never had this issue before with other hosts and the only thing that works properly is the *
