Update fails
I tried to apply the latest update to ISPConfig, but it fails:
/download/ispconfig3_install/install # php -q update.php
........
Create new ISPConfig SSL certificate (yes,no) [no]:
Reconfigure Crontab? (yes,no) [yes]:

And I still see the old version number in the status page. What is the correct way to do this update?

The update was successful, the errors are from the start scripts on your server and not from ispconfig. Just logout and then lovin again to see the updated version number.

Maybe you changed the mysql root pasword and msed to set the new pasword in ispconfig in the file /usr/local/ispconfig/server/lib/mysql_clientdb.conf so the the updater could not access your database?
The recommended method to install the update is differently, see release notes. To install the update, login as root user on the shell and execute the command
ispconfig_update.sh

I used the script method to update ispconfig to 3.0.4.1 today. I have a couple of issues:-
1. If I change a users password the web server hangs, it takes about 2 restarts of the web server to get it back to serving pages. The password change has not occurred.
2. I have a client that has 40 email forwarders, but the page only shows 15 entries, and no method to edit the entries after the first 15.
The only thing I can think of is that I said no to update the permissions on the mysql database, the default option is no. I selected the defaults on the other options and that was ok.
There are no errors in the standard web server logs. I am using a virtual CentOS 5.6 instance.
The most important issue the password update issue.

1) What kind of password are you talking about and which error messages do you get in the webservers error log?
2) 40 forwarders or 40 addresses in the forward recipient field?

1. Sorry but I've just retried the issue with the password. I now do not see it. It was changing a clients password that was the issue.
2. There are a total of 40 email addresses to be forwarded, i.e 40 entries. The recipients can be be quite high, one entry is forwarded to 37 email addresses. This is too large for ISPConfig to handle, so I split that into a more manageable size.

2) So you added 40 entries in the filed and now only 25 are there when you open the email forwarder again after you saved it? Then the most likely reason is the the field length in the database table is too short. You can change the field tpe e.g.to long text with phpmyadmin, ispconfig itself is not limiting the amount of emails that you enter there and there ahd been no code changes in this area in the alst update.

Yes there is a problem with the field length, but I suspect that is the database entry field size as the textarea is large enough.
The other issue is the number of displayed email forwarder records. It displays 15 of the 40 records, and I can edit them. But cannot see a way to navigate to the other 25 records

There should a link at the end of the list to navigate forwards and backwards in the list as it is used for all lists in ISPConfig. I checked this on my 3.0.4.1 install and the navigation links are there.
