Default Ownership all files folder changed Accidentally

I accidentally changed the ownership of all files and folders on the server to that of a client site -R option (recursive). The server is now obviously misbehaving. What are my options?

Would appreciate some help. Thanks

Just one folder, or the whole filesystem? If the latter, you better reinstall the system from scratch.
