Mail not working

Hi,
Pls guide me to check my mail settings whether it is working or not ? I got error message like this.

Result: ; msg: Invalid login details when connecting to smtp server.


But my webmail working with :8080 and able to login using the same credentials as i am using for this, but not able to send and but i am receiving mails. pls help me to sort out this. Thanks.

Are there any errors in your mail log (in the /var/log/ directory)?
