First restore the ispconfig backup that you find in /tmp. Then check if you installed all new required components that are described in the release notes before you try to update again.

There are backups of your old installation in /tmp (a backup for /root/ispconfig, one for /home/admispconfig, and an SQL dump of the ISPConfig database.

To restore the database, take a look here: http://www.howtoforge.com/faq/6_4_en.html

To restore /root/ispconfig, copy the tar.gz file to /root and run
Code:
tar xvfz name_of_file.tar.gz
For /home/admispconfig, copy the backup to /home and then run
Code:
tar xvfz name_of_file.tar.gz

Hello Till,

first of all thanks for your help but it´s not working in that case.

the problem is that the "old" db_ispconfig is complete gone, so a show databases shows only the databases of the webpages but not the main database of ispconfig.

it seems that the dump can´t create this database during the command that falco shows.

any idea ?

thanks

Run
Code:
CREATE DATABASE db_ispconfig;
on the MySQL shell to create an empty database, and then use the SQL dump to restore the database.

Hello Falko,

i did the create command and show databases shows the db_ispconfig database in the database list.

after that i try to import the dump for the /tmp directory:

mysql -u root -ppassword db_ispconfig < existing_db_09_28_2010__11_57_38.sql

i got the following error:
ERROR 1146 (42S02) at line 22: Table 'db_ispconfig.del_status' doesn't exist

i think that happens because the tables are not existing and it seems that the backup dump didn´t check if the tables have to be created or not ?

any idea ?

thanks

Default Same Problem

I just update from 2.2.30 to 2.2.37 . Email services came back up but I am not able to start httpd. Had the following errors on installation.

************************************************** *************************
ERROR: the required NetAddr::IP module is not installed,
minimum required version is 4.000.

Used in determining which DNS tests are to be done for each of
the header's received fields, and used by AWL plugin for extracting network
address from an IPv6 addresses (and from IPv4 address on nondefault mask).

************************************************** *************************
NOTE: the optional Digest::SHA module is not installed.

The Digest::SHA module is required by the DKIM plugin.

************************************************** *************************
NOTE: the optional Mail::SPF module is not installed.

Used to check DNS Sender Policy Framework (SPF) records to fight email
address forgery and make it easier to identify spams.

************************************************** *************************
NOTE: the optional IP::Country module is not installed.

Used by the RelayCountry plugin (not enabled by default) to determine
the domain country codes of each relay in the path of an email.

************************************************** *************************
NOTE: the optional Razor2 module is not installed,
minimum required version is 2.61.

Used to check message signatures against Vipul's Razor collaborative
filtering network. Razor has a large number of dependencies on CPAN
modules. Feel free to skip installing it, if this makes you nervous;
SpamAssassin will still work well without it.

More info on installing and using Razor can be found
at http://wiki.apache.org/spamassassin/InstallingRazor .

************************************************** *************************
NOTE: the optional Net::Ident module is not installed.

If you plan to use the --auth-ident option to spamd, you will need
to install this module.

************************************************** *************************
NOTE: the optional Mail:KIM module is not installed,
minimum required version is 0.31, recommended version is 0.37 or higher.

If this module is installed and the DKIM plugin is enabled,
SpamAssassin will perform DKIM signature verification when DKIM-Signature
header fields are present in the message headers, and check ADSP rules
(e.g. anti-phishing) when a mail message does not contain a valid author
domain signature. Version 0.37 or later is needed to fully support ADSP.

************************************************** *************************
NOTE: the optional Encode:etect module is not installed.

If you plan to use the normalize_charset config setting to detect
charsets and convert them into Unicode, you will need to install
this module.

REQUIRED module missing: NetAddr::IP
optional module missing: Digest::SHA
optional module missing: Mail::SPF
optional module missing: IP::Country
optional module missing: Razor2
optional module missing: Net::Ident
optional module missing: Mail:KIM
optional module missing: Encode:etect

The previous posts were helpful but the assumed I would know the exact filename to restore.

Should I run the old installation file for 2.2.35 ??

Please check the /tmp directory if there are backups of the old /root/ispconfig and /home/admispconfig directory and the ISPConfig database. If there are, restore your previous ISPConfig installation from these backups. Afterwards, run the upgrade again, but before just pressing enter, please read what the installer says - it tells you that a few additional packages are needed and asks you if you are absolutely sure that these are installed. If they aren't installed, open a second shell, install the packages, and then continue with the upgrade in the first shell window.
