How to login to a client account?

I'm still new to this and reading through the manual. I created a client and assigned a website to the client. Accessing the website through a browser works.

My problem is is that if I attempt to login to the clients account username/pass through either putty or winscp, I end up getting an access denied/password error message. Did I do something wrong or am I also suppose to setup an FTP and/or Shell site for the same client?

my OS is OpenSUSE 11.2 running ISPConfig v3.0.3.3

In addition:
If I do have to setup Shell and FTP accounts then it asks what disk quota to assign to the account. Will this add more quota to what I original alocated to the client (5gb)??

Yes, you must set up and FTP and Shell account if you want to use FTP and SSH. The client login is only for ISPConfig.
