Default VMWare ESX & Virtual Server Hacking

I've been experimenting with the possibility of installing the VMware Server (free edition) over the ESX Demo edition. The base operating system of ESX 3 is a red hat flavored OS on a 2.4.21-37.0.2.ELvmnix kernel. I'm just curious if anyone has successfully integrated Virtual Server on top of ESX core system? I'm hoping there might be a way to integrate some of the ESX functions in with Virtual Server.
