How To Set Up Xen 3.0 From Binaries In Ubuntu 6.06 LTS (Dapper Drake)

Here is what I have done.

Downloaded and installed ubuntu-6.06-server-i386.iso server only installation. Added openssh, created static ip.

after following step 2.1 I get to create modules.dep... here is what I have in /lib/modules

" Sorted by name (.bak,~,.swp,.o,.info,.aux,.log,.dvi,.bbl,.blg,.brf,.cb,.ind,.i
"= /lib/modules/
../
2.6.12.6-xen/
2.6.12.6-xen0/
2.6.12.6-xenU/
2.6.15-23-server/

so I run:

/sbin/depmod -a 2.6.12.6-xen

set loop:

and run

cd /boot
mkinitramfs -o initrd.img-2.6.12.6-xen 2.6.12.6-xen

here is the message I get.

W: udev hook script requires at least kernel version 2.6.15
W: not generating requested initramfs for kernel 2.6.12.6-xen

how do I fix this?

In the tutorial it's kernel 2.6.16, not 2.6.12.6.

Yes, It says

Next we create modules.dep and map files for the new kernel. (see /lib/modules for the correct kernel version)

At this point my /lib/modules said version 2.6.12.6

If I used ubuntu-6.06-server-i386.iso and xen-3.0.1-install-x86_32.tgz how do I end up with the wrong kernel version?
