Default Old Dell boxes

I have old dell boxes that are 3-4 years old. I want to recycle them. Is there a way to tell if they will support 64 bit Distros? What do i look for?

Thanks

What processors do these have? If you know the processor type, you can check on the Internet if they support 64- or only 32-bit operating systems.

boot the system change bios to text (intead of picture) set P.O.S.T. to 'slow' and it will list your cpu' also in some bios'es it will show. telling us or google the cpu name + typ + number and you shoul know.

example all intel pentium (are non 64bit).

all core duo (are also non 64bit).

mustly only intel E6xxx (and up) are 64bit.
