Default Co-Domain why does this not work

I have a domain - www.domain.com and I create a sub domain portal - so I will have portal.domain.com....

I also have and it does work if you put it in a browser https://portal.domain2.com:81... and yes it goes to the ISPConfig Control Panel

So under co-domain I forward the portal.domain1.com to https://portal.domain2.com:81

And I get nothing page cannot be found/msn serach page.

Is it possible to do what I want to do.

Thanks

If you want this portal alias for the controlpanel for all your domains, have a look here:
