problems getting ispconfig 3 to install on mailserver

Hi,
I am using the multiserver setup for Debian. My webserver is running 64bit version of Debian netinst. Mail, db and nameservers are running i386.All the base systems are in place. I have installed ISPconfig on my webserver, but I am experiencing problems with my mail server. Basically I am at the stage of installing ISPConfig and I get to :

MySQL master server hostname : <--web.example.com
MySQL master server root username [root]: <-- root
MySQL master server root password []: <-- Enter the root password of the master server here
MySQL master server database name [dbispconfig]: <-- dbispconfig

But I get back :

Unable to connect to mysql server

I can connect to mysql on my web server using :

mysql -u root -p

And I can see the dbispconfig database.

If I run netstat -tap I get :

You have to add a root server login on the web server for the hostname and the IP address of the mailserver. Please see here for details:

Is that the part that says :

CREATE USER 'root'@'192.168.0.106' IDENTIFIED BY 'myrootpassword';
GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON * . * TO 'root'@'192.168.0.106' IDENTIFIED BY 'myrootpassword' WITH GRANT OPTION MAX_QUERIES_PER_HOUR 0 MAX_CONNECTIONS_PER_HOUR 0 MAX_UPDATES_PER_HOUR 0 MAX_USER_CONNECTIONS 0 ;

and :

CREATE USER 'root'@'mail.example.tld' IDENTIFIED BY 'myrootpassword';
GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON * . * TO 'root'@'mail.example.tld' IDENTIFIED BY 'myrootpassword' WITH GRANT OPTION MAX_QUERIES_PER_HOUR 0 MAX_CONNECTIONS_PER_HOUR 0 MAX_UPDATES_PER_HOUR 0 MAX_USER_CONNECTIONS 0 ;

Yes. You have to replace the IP and the hostname with the hostname and IP of your mail server and restart mysql on the master.
