Default PHP5-FPM Stalls

I am running a Debian Lenny VPS with NGINX and PHP-FPM (PHP 5.3.4 from Dotdeb). The problem that I am having is that is just dies and stops responding. If I restart it, it comes back no problem.

Is there any way to stop this from happening? I can't login all the time to restart it.

I have not checked the logs. I will do that when I get a chance. I was notified that I was under a booter ddos attack. I have no idea why, but I am guessing that was a factor in the PHP controller failing.
