Perfect Install - Ubuntu 6.06 name resolution

I have tried this twice on two different machines using two different network setups and have had the same issue.

When I enter "apt-get update", the box is unable to resolve the domain names in the source.list file. If I swap out the domain names for the IP’s and it works and is able to download the updates.

I get errors like “temporary failure resolving ca.archive.ubuntu.com” etc.

I have a dns-nameserver listed in the /etc/network/interfaces file which is a valid nameserver for the network it id plugged into

Any ideas.
