Default FTP problem

Hey there people :P

I need your help! If you don't mind :P

I installed pure-ftpd on my ubuntu server 10.04. I am able to connect with my ubuntu username and pass, but I can't upload! I don't know why!

Thanks for your help,

Sam

Did you try both active and passive transfers in your FTP client? Do you get any error messages, either in your FTP client or in the PureFTPd logs on the server?

Ok thx!

I'll try using passive ftp, but will it changes my permissions? Because even with webmin's file manager, I can't upload with the account I created when I installed ubuntu server 10.04. The only way I succeded on uploading something is with webmin's file manager as root.

And where can I find my pure-ftpd logs?

Thanks!

This has no effect on permissions.

They are in the /var/log/ directory.

I found it!

I wasn't the user of the directory /var/www, so I changed root for my username with webmin's file manager
