MAC operating system

Where can I find an operating system for a Mac IBook G3 Clamshell laptop? I have a Mac IBook G3 Clamshell laptop and it does not seem to have ANYTHING on it. When I turn it on a screen comes up with a folder in the middle. The folder has a question mark and a sad face on it. I don't know what to do about this. I assumed that it didn't have an operating system on it. Would I be able to download an operating system for it on the internet? Where would I find one? How would I load it onto the laptop?
