Default Virtual Hosting With Proftpd and Perfect Server

After successfully following http://www.howtoforge.com/perfect-se...nny-ispconfig2
I would like to follow http://www.howtoforge.com/virtual-ho...l-debian-lenny
Are the two mutually exclusive, and if not, what changes for the second might be necessary? Or can I follow it as is?

ISPConfig 2 doesn't support virtual FTP users, so you can't use the second tutorial on an ISPConfig 2 server.
Download the ISPConfig 3 Manual! | Check out the ISPConfig 3 Billing Module!
