Default Change default background

I am running Ubuntu 10.04 and would like to know how i can change the default background to one of my choice?

I right-click on the Desktop, select "Change the desktop background" and when the Appearance Preferences window opens i click on "Get more backgrounds online" option. Having arrived at http://art.gnome.org/backgrounds/ site i can't find out how i can download and install any of the backgrounds available.

Sorry for being so thick. Thanks all
