Default Changing Maildir path

I'm moving from vpopmail and was hoping to keep the maildir paths the same in ispconfig3
Under Server Config --> Mail I tried editing the Maildir Path to /var/vmail/[domain]/[localpart]/Maildir

With the above setting, the Maildir directory is created but the original path is still used in postfix. does anyone know how to accomplish this?

The maildir path depends on the pop3 / imapd daemon that you use. The path /var/vmail/[domain]/[localpart]/Maildir is only used for dovecot while courier uses aptah without the trailing "Maildir" directory.
