cant send mail to gmail accounts

Tried some other things:

The second and third ones are interesting, because they are both smtp servers for my ISP, (Bell Canada). #2 is for residential customers and #3 is for business customers.

I sent an e-mail to gmail support, their website says that they will reply "within a few days".

Once again, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Not sure and I can be wrong, but it looks like your provider is blocking port 25 for outgoing mail.

The only option for you is to use "mxmta.sympatico.ca" as outgoing mailserver.

But than again.. I could be wrong on this.

Just checked with my ISP, they say they don`t block any ports.

Have you also checked the SElinux, firewall or any outbound blocks on port 25?

Hi macedOn,

I have SELinux disables, machine on the DMZ and the firewall is configured properly. I can also telnet in form my other computers.

I think it`s more of a configuration problem, since I can send to some email servers, but not all.

I am thinking maybe the TTL is set wrong or some other "small" configuration. I will start fiddling with it tomorrow.

BTW, does anyone know how to disable telnet? I would like to shut it down when I am finished using it.

Try logging into your gmail and sending to your mailbox. Let us know how you go.

Usually this problem happens because of outbound blocks or a improper DNS settings.

To check your DNS configuration you can use http://www.intodns.com/

FTP Server 21 TCP
TFTP Server 69 UDP

You can take your machine out of DMZ and open or close whatever ports you like.

UPDATE:

I have contacted the following:

Godaddy, my domain registrar. They tell me that they cannot set up a PTR record for me.

DNS2GO, my dynamic DNS routing service. They tell me for $60.00 USD per DOMAIN PER YEAR, they can route my email traffic for me, they offer no other service.

Contacted my ISP, Bell Canada, (Sympatico). They were pretty much clueless, having no idea what I was talking about.

Any suggestions?

p.s. Since my ISP doesn't offer a static IP, I am using DNS2GO. If anyone knows of a dynamic DNS routing service that will allow me to enter PTR, please let me know.
