Default Updating ClamAV and Spamassassin

Given the stability and maturity of ispconfig2 (WELL DONE MEN!), would this not be a good time to consider providing for manual upgrades of ClamAV and perhaps even SpamAssassin apart from a new release of ispconfig2?

As ispconfig3 stabilizes and more and more attention is paid to the new version, the frequency of upgrading ispconfig2 will surely drop to almost never. It seems to me that some easy ways of being able to manually upgrade programs such as ClamAV will be needed when new releases of ispconfig2 become rare.

What do you think?

Richard

I came here to ask the exact same question.

ISPConfig runs clamav 0.95.3, the current is 0.96.1

A howto on manual upgrades would be nice or just periodic (quarterly?) upgrades to ispconfig 2 to keep it up to date and secure until it is officially killed.

I've added a short tutorial in the ISPConfig FAQ:
