Default Pure-FTPD Offline VS OpenVZ

Hey,

I am inexperienced at compiling software but I can follow instructions pretty well. I am using a VS that uses OpenVZ with Debian 5.0. In the ISPConfig control panel it shows that my FTP server is down.

Here is my netstat -tap
Code:
PID/Program name
tcp 0 0 *:mysql *:* LISTEN -
tcp 0 0 localhost.localdo:spamd *:* LISTEN -

Also here is what happens when I run /etc/init.d/pure-ftpd-mysql restart
Code:
host:/home/pure-ftpd-1.0.27# /etc/init.d/pure-ftpd-mysql restart
Restarting ftp server: Running: /usr/sbin/pure-ftpd-mysql-virtualchroot -l mysql:/etc/pure-ftpd/db/mysql.conf -l pam -p 40110:40210 -u 1000 -O clf:/var/log/pure-ftpd/transfer.log -A -E -b -d -B

Thanks for your help!

There are two options two run pure-ftpd on openvz:

a) run this command (change opnvz ID of course) on the host server:

Code:
VPSID=101
for CAP in CHOWN DAC_READ_SEARCH SETGID SETUID NET_BIND_SERVICE NET_ADMIN SYS_CHROOT SYS_NICE CHOWN DAC_READ_SEARCH SETGID SETUID NET_BIND_SERVICE NET_ADMIN SYS_CHROOT SYS_NICE
do
vzctl set $VPSID --capability ${CAP}:on --save
done
to enable support for capabilities in openvz

or b) recompile pure-ftpd to run without capabilities.
